Powerful MPS for Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing
Hamilton, together with Illumina, streamlined high throughput noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) with the VeriSeq NIPT Microlab STAR assay ready workstation. This automated next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflow, also known as massively parallel sequencing (MPS), uses a PCR-free whole-genome approach to increase sample throughput and decrease turnaround time while greatly reducing the risk of human error and sample contamination. Up to 96 samples may be processed in approximately one day.
Features and Benefits
Hands-Free, Optimized NIPT Solution
The VeriSeq NIPT Microlab STAR system screens for specific fetal chromosome abnormalities using maternal blood drawn as early as 10 weeks gestation. All workflow steps, including plasma isolation, cfDNA extraction, library preparation and quantification, and pooling and normalization, are fully automated and vendor-qualified for robust, reliable performance. This eliminates time-consuming and variable or error-prone manual processing steps and allows users to refocus time on high-value activities.
Enhanced Time Savings and Sample Integrity
The VeriSeq NIPT Microlab STAR allows a single user to prepare and analyze 48 or 96 samples simultaneously, with results in approximately one day, compared to two days or longer using other methods. Hands-free throughput and sample integrity are enabled through powerful features such as eight independent pipetting channels, the CO-RE 96 Multi-Probe Head, autoload, barcode scanning, iSWAP gripper arm, and the Clear, On-Deck Vacuum Station. By doing so, users are confident that they can deliver high-quality, accurate fetal genetic screening results to clinicians.
Intuitive Illumina Software
Illumina’s VeriSeq NIPT Workflow Manager Software includes a graphical interface to guide users through protocol selection and assay setup. Each run, including complete sample tracking, is summarized in a downloadable report file.
Precision Pipetting
Air displacement pipetting using Hamilton tips with CO-RE (Compressed O-Ring Expansion) technology provides superior measurement accuracy, precision, and reproducibility without tip distortion or aerosol generation during tip pick-up and ejection.
